I’m pretty stoked to say I’ll be working with Beatwolf here in Manchester, covering live shows for the online magazine. If you haven’t heard of these guys, check them out over on www.beatwolf.com – They’re an online music magazine based here in
sunny rainy Manchester.
On Friday 14.09.2012, home grown talent Jessie Rose (Trip – they have recently dropped the Trip from their name) played SSR Manchester. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know this place existed before Friday night. SSR is a Audio Engineering School, check out their website here . They have a great history and they have some amazing links eg; The Stone Roses. I’m still finding new places after returning to home land in December! Funny how you take your own soil for granted huh?
Moving on. It’s everytime I see artist’s like this live that I think…BOOM i missed THIS about Manchester. The music over here is just MIND BLOWING.
Taken from their facebook page:
“The Jessie Rose Trip is Manchester enigmatic sylph singer song-writer and musician Jessie Rose who, with her stunning soulful pipes and heavy blues guitar riffs, has won rave comparisons with everyone from Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse to the legendary guitarist that is Jimi Hendrix, one of JRo’s biggest musical influences!
Seriously catchy melodies and riffs are combined with her band The Trip’s stomping hip hop and dance influenced grooves to create songs which, once heard, you won’t forget!
Their innovative sound and high energy performances have been gaining them an increasingly high profile fan base and reputation on the live circuit.
It’s time to keep your ears to the ground and eyes to the skies as Jessie Rose begins her astronomical rise to the top!”
The line-up consists of:
Jessie Rose: Lead vox/Elec guitar/Keys
Jimmy Wood: Drums/Percussion/B.VOX
Marky VT- Bass guitar/B.VOX
