Did you think of the Disney movie when you read the title of the post?
I love Beauty & The Beast. The original is amazing, and well Disney’s version – it’s my fave disney movie ever. I adore it. Every single thing about it. I can watch this movie a million times over and then some.
The concept for the shoot came to mind back in the summer, maybe even before that. I wanted to exercise the term Beauty and the Beast .
At first I thought about doing something really pretty and disney-esque. But it’s been done a million times over. Then I thought about delivering a fashion / editorial style shoot. Annie Leibovitz shot that for Vogue. I can’t compare to that! ( It’s ah-mazing).
What I could do though, is deliver a concept storyboard shoot where by my own thoughts and spin were incorporated ( with the help of a beautiful friend – Thanks Clare! ) . I’ve been wanting to shoot a storyboard concept in black and white for a while. This was the project where I got to do this. The shoot took place out on location in Manchester. I may share the coloured version in the near future but for now…
I’d like to say a big thank you to all the guys involved on the day.
I’ll leave you with a quote from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and let your imagination take over….
“Beast: I want to do something for her… but what?”
“Cogsworth: Well, there’s the usual things: flowers… chocolates… promises you don’t intend to keep…”
