Live: Puppet Rebellion

The guys played at Sound Control in Manchester back in June (click here to see the set of shots from the gig) They’re only 8 months old yet you wouldn’t know it going off their sound and how tight their performance is when on stage.

Last night they played at Factory 251 here in Manchester.

At a show, no matter how big or small it is, I think it’s key to interact with your audience and really draw them in and make them feel a part of that whole experience. The guys have it down to the tee, the more gigs they do, the more their performance is changing and they’re really growing as artists and as a band.

The sound was so clean lastnight at Factory 251 – sound engineer did awesome. The show was put on by This Feeling, the room was jam packed and the line up was ace. Manchester’s Slow Readers Club were first up, Puppet Rebellion were second in line (and smashed it!) and Catfish & The Bottlemen were the main act.

It’s great to be able to shoot a band frequently, you get to know their stage presence and their moves and where there at on the stage, that way you know what’s coming 9 times out of 10.

Generally you have the first 3 songs to get the shots you need for a publication / assignment – no flash. So it’s great when your shooting at maybe smaller venues where you can slow the process down a little and go crazy with your flash gun to maybe learn a new technique and really experiment with what you can do. (There’s always something new to learn with a camera and different glass!)
